chairish room challenge

I've been a fan of Chairish for some time when looking to score vintage and one-of-a-kind finds, so I was thrilled when they gave me the challenge to create a room based off one of their fab accent chairs. I was immediately drawn to this green velvet mid-century chair and went from there!

You guys know I'm a big fan of color, and all of my favorite finds were bright, so I combined them and went all out in this room. To balance out these strong pieces I grounded them with a neutral rug and brass accent pieces and kept the art subtle. I imagine this as a chic seating area or even a fun home office.

What do you think? Make sure to check out their website and share some of your favorite Chairish finds!

forest green + a new "man cave"

I've been brainstorming ideas for Charlie's "man room" and I keep finding myself drawn to deep, forest green walls. This color is totally different than what I normally gravitate towards, but I'm up for the challenge. Last week I shared where I'm incorporating this color into the upholstery of a project I'm working on, and I'm totally ready to try it in my own home!

Choosing the right color for the walls is going to be difficult, because this green can go wrong so quickly. I've been looking at Shamrock and Evergreens by Sherwin-Willams and Chopped Chive and Painted Turtle from Behr. These are all totally different from each other, and the furniture we decide on is what is going to help make the final decision. I'm almost 100% sold on this sofa for the room.

There will definitely be some Eames Lounge Chair action, along with a wall of his guitars, lots of wood, and major pops of gold.

I also found this fab photography on Society 6 (my new obsession) to add with our other Marfa prints.

I can. not. wait. to see how it turns out. Who knew I'd get so excited for a man room!

living room reveal

I've been waiting to share our living room until I had everything just the way I wanted it, but seeing as how we're going to start packing up to move in the next month, I figured it's not worth putting any more time or energy into styling this apartment. These are a few photos of our living room as it is now. I had planned on switching out the pillows, adding a neutral Moroccan pouf in place of the current footstool, and changing out the coffee table - but I've decided to wait until the move to purchase these.
Once we make the move be on the lookout for posts of our new living room!
