If you were obsessed with The Hills like I was (you know you were), then I'm sure you'll remember the super successful Kelly Cutrone, CEO and Founder of People's Revolution. On the show I always loved how she kept it real and never sugarcoated anything. To me she is pretty much the perfect mentor giving the right balance of support and tough love. That is why I'm crazy excited to join Levo League's Office Hours today for a live video chat with Kelly. 
This quote of hers has been my inspiration over the past month, and I have to say that living it has been very liberating... for realz.

mint + emerald

I'm getting the urge to paint again, but I can't decide it it's worth the pain of repainting when we move out. I'm already sort of dreading covering up my impulse to paint our entry, but after three years our beige walls are slowly killing me. I've had six mint paint swatches tacked to my inspiration board for months that I've been trying to figure out how to use. All I know is I'm digging mint and emerald together, and I think it would look excelente in our dining room.

 Or maybe I don't have to go cray and paint the walls, but instead find myself some minty accessories to add to our emerald?

bedroom redesign

I finished my InDesign class last week (so many ideas spinning in my head about how I can use this), and I've recently started my first interior design class. We've only met twice, but I've already learned so much, and the best part is that we get to take a field trip to Market! So far I've learned how to measure and draw out a floor plan and furniture to scale (this is so useful when re-arranging or buying new furniture!). Now, we're taking a room in our home and learning how to redesign it. We were given a budget, and we're creating a board that would be presented to the client. I chose to use our bedroom, because it's the only room in our house that I haven't given very much attention. These are the pictures that I used for the "before" shot, even though I've changed a few minor things since these were taken.
We're creating a real-life board for our presentation, but I created a mock-up board on the computer to get a feel for how everything will look together. The real one will also include things like fabric, paint, and floor samples.
I'll be sure to post pictures of the finished product!
