living room drapery

After searching forever to find the right shade of blue for the drapes in our living room, I think I've finally found something that will work. I haven't been able to get this Lonny image out of my head. It is exactly what I want our drapes to look like, but everything I was finding was too grayed-out or too bright.
I've finally settled on these blue velvet drapes from PBteen. The clearance price tag and free shipping helped make the decision a little easier, too.
They should be here shortly, and I'll be posting our completed living room as soon as they are up!

instagram updates

Oh so many things have been happening around here.
Last week I got the opportunity to volunteer with Dwell With Dignity and help paint for their upcoming Thrift Studio!
Found these awesome fabric elephants while I was waiting to pick Toby up from the groomer.
Went to a lovely backyard rehearsal dinner for my brother-in-law and brand new sister-in-law!
Her fab wedding table decorations.
Their first dance. Aren't they the cutest? Also, please notice my handsome hubs strumming the guitar in the background ;)
I snuck this sweet picture of my in-laws during the reception.
And I can't share pictures without putting up one of this guy...

I'm almost finished with an e-design project that I'm excited to share. Stay tuned!

on my radar: fall interiors

If you're anything like me (and every other person according to instagram/twitter updates and pinterest posts) the chill in the air has put you in the mood to light a pumpkin-scented candle and decorate for fall. My favorite thing to do to update my home for the chilly weather is to pull out the faux fur throws and trade out my bright sofa pillows for more neutral tones.

When I used to live at home, we even changed out our bedding for the fall and winter. I haven't done that in ages, but I'm thinking a nice plaid blanket might be in order for the foot of our bed. What do you do to get your home ready for fall? I'd love to hear!
